First things first, let me give credit to Susan Patt (a RTT member) for bringing this to my attention again after she attended Inman Connect.
Xobni (spelt Inbox backwards and prounced ZOB-nee) is a free plug-in to your Outlook 2003/2007 that extends the reach of your Outlook into Social Networking.Besides this, there are many useful features that were limitations of Outlook:
1. For all you Gmail users, that liked the conversation threads, you get it now with Xobni
2. It creates a right panel that doesn't conflict with the main inbox
3. It lists all exchanged files in the same panel
4. Advanced features with Yahoo email and Social Networking Site (Facebook, LinkedIn) Integration
So, if you select a email sender, your right panel will show your email relationship with that person without having to go look for it. I have been using Xobni for a few days and I like it! Hey, even Bill gates promotes it in the video below:
Watch the video below for a summary of the features:
Finally, you need administrative access to install this free plug-in to Outlook (so if you are on a corporate computer, please get approval and proper rights before installing it). I have seen quite a few plug-ins for outlook but I have to rank this one quite high on the list. It extends the reach of Outlook, improves its search and organizes your email relationships! You may sense it but I am sold on its benefits and makes Outlook actually fun to use. I will report again after a few weeks under my belt.
I watched another youtube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9YhpdKa-NgY) and wondered how this would improve what I think is an already well organized Outlook layout. When I was in corporate work I would have loved this product but when most of my clients are sending notes via their personal email without signature or vcards, would there really be a benefit?
Good conversation. Obviously all features do not apply to everyone but, email conversation threads (a great gmail feature) is definitely a plus no matter how outlook is used. The attachments feature is also very useful. Also, It picks up numbers from email text not just signatures and vcards.

Another plug in for Outlook specific to real estate agents is Eurekaware that extends the power of the contact menu. Check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fb-6WuvpFlM
I LOVE Xobni. Best app since Twitter. What this does is organize your inbox so that you don't have to have folders, everything is in one place. One of the ways I especially use this is to see who is on LinkedIn and Facebook. When I do Expired listings each morning, I always check to see if they are on Facebook and LinkedIn. But anyone who emails you, when you click on their email it lists all communication, attachments, etc. on the right hand panel. Plus their phone numbers, etc. so that you do not have to look that up in your contact manager. This has made my life much easier.
