Realty Tech Talk

I finally installed the beta version of Google Chrome Browser a few days ago. It is clean and fast. It gets out of your way and gets you where you want to go. It follows the tab concept with Internet Explorer/Firefox but by keeping each tab in an isolated "sandbox", they are able to prevent one tab from crashing another and provide improved protection from rogue sites. The biggest benefit is the "one box for everything" concept where you can use it to type a web address, or search. Type your search query in the address bar, and it automatically suggests related queries and popular websites, based on your input.

Above all, compared to my Internet Explorer 7, Chrome loaded noticeably faster. If you choose to switch to chrome, you can pick up where you left off with all the bookmarks and passwords from your existing browser. You can download it at http://www.google.com/chrome/?hl=en. It is only available for the PC (Windows XP/Vista) right now.

I am starting my migration to it!

Nice browser. Doesn't work with SJSRMLS (South Jersey MLS) Paragon at this time.

Hey Rajeev,

I write this as I use Chrome right now. I've switched to it, for now, from Firefox 3 for now. I can't stand IE personally, though I have to use it for Trend and MyEZAccess (boo). They keep adding to Chrome and once/if they start getting extensibility like Firefox it could be even better. Very stable and I've had very few problems.

Here is the browser based visits for the month of October at Prufoxroach.com. I am excited to see Chrome and Opera make the last even though they are very small percentages. Hoping that would grow. Till that happens most people develop their sites to the top two or three browsers.

1.IE 79.11%

2.Firefox 13.46%

3.Safari 6.59%

4. Chrome 0.43%

5. Netscape 0.15%

6. Opera 0.11%

David,

I am glad you are enjoying it and appreciate the kind words. I am hoping RTT (with your help!) will become a common place for our agents to discuss technology and how it can help them grow their business.

Hello Rajeev,

I am glad to see that you started this discussion. When we spoke briefly about this a few weeks ago I asked you what will it take to make TREND become compatible with these other browsers. We obviously have a diverse group of people that use multiple browsers but we are limited with the choice we have to access the MLS. I would say that IE would be one of my last choices. I am currently logged on with safari and I am a fan of chrome and opera. Rajeev you are definitely one of the best we have and I think I speak for at least most of us when I say you are an asset to Prudential and we all appreciate you very much.

Hi Rajeev,

Is there an available tool bar for Chrome? I love the browser and the history features, but if I want to sent a link to you I can't seem to figure out how to do that. The tool bar that starts File Edit View History Bookmarks Tools Help
is missing!

thx

Use the standard Windows Command "CTRL + C" and paste with "CTRL+V" to send
